SmartPlay Early Learners (SP) is a national brand operated by Christian Education Ministries (CEM) with plans underway to launch several Early Learning Centres around Australia in the coming years. SP is wholeheartedly committed to excellence in early childhood education so that children are “well known, well loved, and well taught” by dedicated trained staff. To achieve these outcomes the SP vision is to nurture, love and introduce every child to God.

SmartPlay Early Learners is a Christian Early Learning Centre aimed at providing exceptional care and education. The services provided include: 3 Year Old Kinder Program, 4 Year Old Kinder Program, Before & After School Care and Vacation Care Programs. We have a strong focus on school readiness through well-designed literacy and numeracy programs. Smartplay recognises and values staff as having a vital role in the care and education of young children.

About the role

An opportunity exists to join a fantastic, committed Christian team, in catering for and supporting students within a Christian environment. We are seeking a capable, organised, and relational cook who desires to serve our service community.

This part time position (minimum 40 hours per fortnight, open to negotiation) is expected to start as soon as possible.

About you

  • You have suitable qualifications/experience (e.g. Food Safety Supervisor Certificate). Desirable qualification would be a Cert III in Children’s Services but not essential.
  • You’re engaging and able to conduct cooking experiences with children.
  • You’re confident in the use of technology, including online ordering, menu planning and communications.
  • You have a servant heart and vibrant Christian faith.
  • You will be highly organised with attention to detail.
  • You will be highly empathetic and able to consider the needs of families while progressing the delivery of service in a timely manner
  • You’ll thrive when working collaboratively and when given the opportunity to show initiative.
